Your workshop is led by Ell, a Sydney jeweller with eight years in the industry, learning under established designers and building her own practice. Lost wax is what she knows best and loves most. She teaches the way she works, no jargon, no pressure, just a real love for helping people discover and make something they're proud of. She still wears the first ring she ever carved.
Why lost wax?
Lost wax casting is one of the oldest jewellery making traditions in the world. You sculpt your design in hard jewellers wax and the final piece gets cast directly from your carving, so what you make is what you get. It's tactile, intuitive, and endlessly customisable. There's no template to follow, no set path, just whatever you can dream up.
where we are
We're based in Redfern, right on the border of Chippendale. We love this zone, its history, and the neighbourhood. We built the space as somewhere we'd want to spend time, and somewhere we'd want people to drop by. Open for learning, collaborating and just hanging out.
We're a short a walk from Redfern station and a slightly longer walk from Central station.
