Workshop Participant Terms & Conditions

1. About Our Workshops
THIRD PERSON STUDIO offers hands-on lost wax jewellery-making workshops in New South Wales. Workshops involve the use of open flames (spirit lamps), craft knives, carving tools, and other jewellery-making equipment. Participation requires engagement with tools and materials that carry inherent risks.
2. Health & Safety
2.1 Participant Responsibilities
All participants must:
Follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor at all times
Attend the safety briefing at the start of each session
Wear any personal protective equipment (PPE) provided or requested
Notify the instructor of any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries that may affect participation
Not participate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Behave in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others
2.2 Known Hazards
Participants acknowledge that the following hazards are present in workshops:
Open flames from spirit lamps — risk of burns
Sharp craft knives and wax carving tools — risk of cuts and lacerations
Hot wax and casting materials — risk of burns
Jewellery-making tools and equipment — risk of cuts, pinching, or impact injury
Prolonged use of fine tools — risk of eye strain
2.3 Our Responsibilities
THIRD PERSON STUDIO will, so far as is reasonably practicable:
Provide a safe workshop environment in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW)
Conduct a safety briefing before each session
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition
Have a first aid kit available at all sessions
Provide adequate supervision and instruction throughout the workshop
3. Assumption of Risk & Liability
By booking and attending a workshop, participants acknowledge and agree that:
Lost wax jewellery-making involves inherent risks that cannot be fully eliminated
The risks of cuts, burns, and minor injuries from tools, flames, and materials are obvious and inherent risks of this activity
Participants voluntarily assume responsibility for these inherent and obvious risks
To the maximum extent permitted by law — including under the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW) and the Australian Consumer Law — THIRD PERSON STUDIO excludes liability for personal injury, loss, or damage arising from obvious or inherent risks of the workshop activities, where the participant has been given adequate warning of those risks.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
5. Bookings, Payment & Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed once payment has been made.
We are unable to offer refunds for cancellations.
You can reschedule your session up to 48 hours before the start-time of your class. Rescheduling links are sent in the booking confirmation email.
6. Photography & Media
THIRD PERSON STUDIO may photograph or video sessions for use in marketing materials and social media. By attending, participants consent to being photographed in a workshop setting. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify your instructor at the start of the session.
7. Personal Property
THIRD PERSON STUDIO takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to workshop premises.
8. Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a welcoming and respectful environment. Participants who engage in unsafe behaviour, harassment, or who disrupt the experience of others may be asked to leave without refund.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
